I would like to introduce my business, LMV Wills.
LMV Wills provides advice and assistance on all aspects of Will Writing and Lasting Powers of Attorney in an understanding and sympathetic manner.
Appointments take place in your own home, at a time convenient to you, in Bridgnorth and the surrounding areas.
After over 20 years working as a Solicitor this is a slight change in direction. I am now a member of the Society of Will Writers which will ensure that my work will continue to be regulated.
I am also a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
Many will know me from my work for Andrews Ritson Solicitors which, unfortunately, closed in 2020. Through LMV Wills I wish to continue to maintain and grow the strong community ties in Bridgnorth which I developed through my work there.
My work ethic remains the same, to assist clients in the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney in an understanding and sympathetic manner whilst recognising the emotional issues associated with dealing with such matters.
My name is Lynn Vowles. I grew up in Shropshire and now live in Bridgnorth with my husband and two children who attend local schools.
I obtained a first class honours degree in mathematics from Bangor University in North Wales and then studied law at the College of Law, Chester obtaining a distinction in the Legal Practice Course.
In 1998 I qualified as a Solicitor and spent my career working at various firms in Shropshire. From 2011 I specialised in Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
I am an affiliate member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) having passed the Advanced Certificate of Will Writing in 2012.
Whilst I am no longer a practising Solicitor, I am a Full Member of the Society of Will Writers and as such I ensure to comply with their Code of Practice. This includes a requirement to have appropriate professional indemnity insurance in place and abide by strict rules with regard to continuing professional development.
My aim is to make the process of making a Will or putting a Lasting Power of Attorney in place as straightforward as possible for my clients whilst recognising that these can be difficult subjects to address.
Making a Will allows you to specify what you want to happen to your assets when you pass away.
If you die without putting a Will in place the ‘Intestacy Rules’ will take effect and these rules will govern who will inherit your estate. This may mean that people who benefit from your death are not those who you would wish to do so.
In order for your Will to be valid there are certain rules which have to be satisfied. LMV Wills will guide you through the process and ensure that those criteria are complied with.

Lasting Powers of Attorney are important documents. The people you appoint to act as your attorney(s) should be trustworthy and have appropriate skills to make decisions on your behalf.
Lasting Powers of Attorney must be registered with the Office of Public Guardian before they can be used. A Property and Financial Affairs LPA can be used with your permission when you have capacity to act, as well as if you lack mental capacity.
A Health and Welfare LPA can only be used if you lack mental capacity.
Before submitting the applications for registration, Lasting Powers of Attorney must be signed by you and your attorneys and certified by an appropriate person to confirm that you understand the nature and effect of the LPA and have not been unduly pressured into making it.
In the event that they are needed, Lasting Powers of Attorney are extremely valuable documents. Without them simple tasks such as paying a bill or speaking to a utility company on your behalf can become a complicated and, in some cases, impossible procedure.
LMV Wills can help you put in place appropriate LPAs for your circumstances ensuring that all relevant issues are considered.
Lasting Power of Attorney for Health and Welfare
This gives your attorney(s) authority to deal with your property and finances. Once registered, It can be used with your permission whilst you have mental capacity and will automatically come into effect if you were to lose mental capacity.
This allows your attorney(s) to make health and welfare care decisions on your behalf, only when you lack mental capacity to do so yourself. This could also extend, if you wish, to giving or refusing consent to the life-sustaining treatment.
